dc.description.abstract This paper explores the impact of a one-year in-service distance education mathematics course that follows a problem-solving approach. The course aims to develop teachers’ mathematical thinking skills. Results show that the course improved the teachers’ confidence, problem-solving skills and teaching skills. Results also show that the course on mathematical thinking skills helps to improve teachers’ understanding of mathematics content. en
