dc.description.abstract Modern organisations are faced with the constant ebb and flow of organisational change being implemented in the organisation. These changes are implemented for various reasons and with different levels of importance for the organisation. The literature study as well as the case study shows that change implementation complications within the IT departments are linked to the inability to effectively manage change implementations within the IT department. This is also coupled with an ever present resistance to change as expressed by the employees being affected by changes. To substantiate the comments and findings this mini dissertation analyses a specific organisation’s IT department by means of case study interviews, and determines how changes are currently being managed within the organisation, whether these changes are successful and if the changes are implemented by means of following a change implementation plan or strategy. en
