Abstract:
This articles give an overview of the state of the library blogosphere in South Africa up until June 2009. The author starts by giving background information on the state of the library sector in South Africa, and then gives an overview of the history of blogs in South Africa. This is followed by a discussion on the degree of utilisation of blogs in South African libraries, by looking at the number of blogs, duration of blogs, number of posts, social interaction through blogs, the usage of blogs, as well as special features used.
