| dc.description.abstract | At Klipspruit Colliery, an opencast coal mine near Ogies, the many possible unforeseen complications experienced on a mine force the production plans to be altered repeatedly. The aim of this project is to prove that simulation modelling can be used to develop a tool that allows the user to change key process performance parameters, while satisfying mine specific constraints, to illustrate the effects of these changes on the entire mining process.
