A connection between Pretoria and the British Royal Wedding on 29 April 2011 is discussed. After the death of her son Prince Christian Victor, HRH Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein planted a sprig from Queen Victoria's myrtle tree on his grave in Pretoria. Catherine Middleton carried sprigs from Queen Victoria's trees in her bridal bouquet. In 1904 Princess Christian founded the Princess Christian Home for the Poor Aged. |
