COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Alpine area of Austria. Name from Pinzgauer area in Salzburg Province.
SIZE: Medium to large.
COLOUR: Mahogany red-brown with white topline, underline and tail.
PURPOSE: Dual purpose.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Used for beef and dairy production. Heifers calve early (most calve at 2.5 years old). Bulls exhibit masculine characteristics early in life but remain docile and easy to handle throughout breeding lives. Longevity is appararent, Pinzgauers breed up to 10/11 years of age.
