dc.description.abstract Bungalow for C.L.F. Borckenhagen. 3 bedroom single storey house. Prominent circular window on eastern facade. Drawings available: bedrooms, bathroom & study. Drawing includes siteplan, first floor plan, all elevations & 2 sections. See also 07575 and 07738. The above original proposal dated 30/09/35 was a scheme for a single-storey “bungalow”. The later proposal was a simplified longitudinal plan, ideal for the local climate: No rounded forms, but the porthole windows and mast still remind of the “Streamline Moderne”. Face-brick lends a rougher texture. Later sketchplans are dated 24.11.1935. It was included in the exhibition drawings, dated November 1936. The drawings of the later additions (1951) show that the roof angle was unfortunately built to be far more pitched than the original intention had been. en_US
