dc.description.abstract From the Pearse Collection: photograph of the inner hall of Koopmans de Wet House, showing painted walls depicting a trompe l'oeil entablature and pilasters. A six-legged Queen Anne style settee (rusbank) with rattan seat, back splats and cabriole legs is displayed, and from the ceiling hangs a brass chandelier. Through the door a kist with sloping sides and a half-moon table with tapered legs can be seen. Photograph probably considered for prof. Geoffrey Pearse's book "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa", but never included. en_US
