dc.description.abstract The paper looks at alternative round timber pole connections that make monoplanar structures and trusses a possibility. Three different systems are discussed and where test results are available, these are compared with theoretical values. It is shown how the performance of a connection can be improved by changing the failure mode of the connector and the timber. en_US
