dc.description.abstract Photograph of an escritoire belonging to Mr. William Fehr, located at the Castle in Cape Town. It has a bombé fronted lower section with canted corners. The broken pediment has a carved vase with flowers between the scrolls. It is the same piece described on p. 97, and shown (with the fall-flap open) in Fig. 127 on p. 103, of the 1960 edition of G. E. Pearse's "Eighteenth Century Furniture in South Africa". en_US
